So life goes on even though it is crazy!
I haven't felt like I have had a lot of time to blog lately. Things have been happening but simply no time to blog. I am working 4-5 nights a week, which I don't mind. I am really enjoying my job. I love that I don't have to be there until 7 or 8 pm. It makes me feel like I am not missing anything. We have eaten dinner, read the scriptures, and when I leave the boys are either in the bathtub or getting pj's on to go to bed. All I miss is the actual tucking in and Ryan has enjoyed having that time with the boys.Ryan also is in an online Master's degree program so he has to work on that for a couple of hours every night and does that mainly when I am at work. Plus, my job pays well and I work with some really great people. It has been a real blessing for us.
So I have many events to sum up.
Last weekend (20-21) we went to the pumpkin patch. I love going to the pumpkin patch and picking out our pumpkins to pick ourselves. I love the corn maze and the apple dumplings. It is just so much fun. Strangely enough, we live around tons of farms but I had trouble finding a place where you could actually go in the patch. Apparently most people would rather just pick from a pile of pumpkins out front. Where's the fun in that? So I found a place that advertised a patch and yummy apple dumplings made fresh daily. Off we went. They had at the main office piles of pumpkins but gave us directions to the patch. Ok, there was like 2 teeny tiny pumpkins left in an otherwise empty pumpkin patch. I was so annoyed. They had picked all of them for the store. Then they ran out of apple dumplings! Travesty! So we got a couple of cute pictures out of the deal and planted some gorgeous mums in our front garden area. Otherwise a bust.
On Sunday we went to MD for our nephew's baby blessing. He was born at the end of July and has gotten so cute and fun! He is such a cute baby and was so smiley and happy all day long. I was impressed. It is always so much fun to see family and just hang out. We got some cute pictures that day as well.
Some of our friends from MD came home with us and stayed for a few days. That was fun for all of us. I had a few days off of work and we played around. The kids had a lot of fun as well. I never knew that by simply adding two kids to the mix your house could get messy 100 times faster but apparently this is some sort of mathematical absolute. Made me think twice about having a lot more kiddos....hehehe
I taught a Christmas card workshop last week at our enrichment meeting for church. I taught what is called 10 from 1. Basically it means you make 10 cards from one sheet of cardstock, and 1 sheet each of two patterned papers. They turned out really cute and I think everyone was happy with them.
On Thursday I did the biggest Costco trip of all time, plus I had to renew my membership so I was amazed at the total. I had to buy all those expensive items like meat, diapers, wipes, laundry detergent, soy milk and toilet paper plus the basics like milk, eggs, bananas, butter, cereal, etc....It was massive but I think we'll be set for about 2 months except for the little things.
This past Saturday I went shopping with my good friend Michelle. She and I have been working hard to lose weight together and have both lost about 20 lbs. She has lost more and she needed some clothes that fit her and a dress to wear to church. We had fun and I was able to fit in pants 2 sizes smaller than I was wearing in August! Woo Hoo! It felt so good. She has done amazingly well and looked so great in her new dress yesterday! Way to go Michelle!
At church yesterday we had the primary program. It was Evan's first and he had been working so hard on his lines all week long. He had them down! When the primary president whispered the first words in his ear he whispered them into the microphone. He was simply doing what she was. It was very cute. The primary had colered the covers for all of the programs. Such a cute idea. Plus they put a piece of paper in the program for you to write a note to the primary kids telling them what they did well and what you enjoyed. I think they read them during primary when they gave them a snack. I thought both of those were great ideas. Good job, primary!
Well, I am looking forward to Halloween this year. Our ward trunk or treat was cancelled on Sat due to rain so Evan can hardly wait to wear his costume. I awoke to frost on the ground this morning so it will be a cold one. I am happy to finally have the brisk cold weather. I am ready for it.
Whew, this was a long one. I had no idea I had so much to write! I guess that's what happens when you take a week off!
Ok, so blogger is having an issue and will not post my pictures! I am going to post this and try later for the pictures. Ugh.
